Myriam  “I realized that Carlo and Alberto have also become part of me…. If you will allow me! … Let’s keep at it together!!”

Michi   “I feel like I can really count on these 2 guys that already reached the Goal and are waiting for us to get there! We can aim our life high, like they did…. And the secret lies in unity, in being together to have Jesus in our midst!!!!!”

Gian : "Personally, what struck me – and I consider the story of Carlo and Alberto a real treasure – is that the exceptional nature of their lives lies in the fact that they were completely normal human beings who simply loved the other person, the in front of them, with no ifs and buts and without trying to achieve great things. I was struck by how their love became concrete in attentiveness, in the caring and depth of their relationships with believers and non-believers alike. I especially liked the way they sought unity both among the people in the different parishes that were very divided, and with people of different convictions: in those days, the distance between Communists and Catholics that had reached its limit. I believe that these two people can be models for us young adults, examples that we can follow in building and caring for relationships with others, and in promoting activities that will bring positive change to the places we live.”

N.: Many things struck me in their story, made me think twice, enriched me and reinvigorated in me the desire to love. They especially tell me that I can’t just sit there thinking, but I should throw myself into loving concretely. You might say: ‘What’s new in that?’ But the thing is, even though it’s the same message as always, we all know that we need to continually say so and say it with our lives if we want to be recharged.

A.: "The story of these two guys is invaluable, like a breath of timelessness: the sensation that it’s really true: everything passes away, but God remains.”

Prayer

Lord, Jesus, crucified and forsaken who in the mystery of your life, death and resurrection have manifested your infinite love for us, we pray that you grant us to follow the example of Alberto and Carlo by growing in friendship with You and each other until we reach the fullness of the Christian life.
